Karen Louise Armstrong

Karen Louise Armstrong, born as Karen Louise Garison, passed away July 18, 2026. She was born in Fort Fairfield, Maine on December 24, 1949 to Stanley Garison and Laura McCrum. She lived, grew up and worked in North Maine through grade school, she then attended the University of Maine where she pursued a degree in Education. She later met Richard Armstrong, they married and moved to Indianapolis, IN. Richard (Dick) later passed and Karen moved to Hattiesburg, MS in 1998. She later retired as a payroll clerk at Chain Electric Company. Soon after moving to Hattiesburg, Karen met Audie Sweat and was welcomed into his family. Karen is preceded in death by her mother and father, a brother (Wayne Garison), a sister (Gail Lum), husband (Richard "Dick" Armstrong), husband (Audie Sweat), and her mother in law (Nancy Bounds). Karen is survived by a father in law (Bill Bounds), a brother in law (William 'Tina' Bounds), a sister in law (Dawn 'Chris' Jordan), a niece (Megan 'Malachi' Crabtree), a nephew (Paul 'Jade' Bounds), a niece (Summer Jordan), great nieces (Haven and Marlee Crabtree), and best friends (Casey Smith, Debbie Menard, and Kendra Mingo). Lastly, we would like to give a special thank you to Deaconess Hospice care team, Nurse Rhonda Smith, Mrs. Jessica, and Mrs. Amanda.
